Another Great Example of Thinglink

Great App Finds!

For those who know me, I'm a tech junkie, and I'm always looking for new things in the tech world to use in my classroom.  I've been playing with several new things, so you'll get two for the price of one today!  In trying out Thinglink, a site that allows you to add all kinds of media to a picture, I embedded a how-to video for the app of the week - Tellagami.  Check out the Thinglink picture below!

The Year is Zooming By! Are You Paddling to Stay Afloat?

Yes, we are already deep into the second six weeks, and I have neglected the new blog since this summer...and the old blogs....and, most everything else besides schoolwork!  In my science classroom, we have workstations where students are held accountable for individual learning, as well as team learning.  As a scientist who became a teacher, hands-on work is extremely important to me; however, I realize we have expectations and demands concerning the STAAR test.  I am focusing my efforts this year to have students make the all-important connections from investigation to STAAR question.  I will be sharing some of our stations from time to time in hopes of saving someone else a little time!

Welcome to the new school year!  I took the rest of the summer off, so the new blog has been dormant.  It is now time, however, for us to slap on our teaching tennies and hit the ground running!  To get us off and running, I wanted to share a great link to a science teacher who has invested a great deal of time in his blog - and his students!

Photon App -Find of the Week!

How many times have you pulled up something on your phone or ipad only to find you can't view Flash sites?  I've tried a couple of apps that were supposed to enable flash content that really didn't impress me.  However, I found Photon this weekend!  It does cost $3.99 for the iphone and $4.99 for the ipad, but I was able to work on flash content on my phone with no problems!  Rm 31 Corp gives it a Thumbs UP!

Welcome to the Creative Classroom!

For those who have followed me on Edublogs, I will eventually be moving things to this new blog.  If there is something you need that you do not see here, please contact me, and I'll get it posted ASAP.  For those who have just wandered here, welcome to our wacky world at Room 31 Corp!  We are a fully functioning fifth grade class that chooses to play outside the box.

My kids have their own blog at Rm31Corp where most of our content is posted, but I wanted to have a spot where I could share ideas with other teachers, and teachers would have a place to share their ideas with me!

I am not a miracle worker, but I know the One who is.  My prayer each morning is, "Lord, please let me make a difference in kids' lives today."  My students inspire me, and most of the wisdom you will find here in the future comes from them.  I am just the messenger.

So....Let the Learning Begin!!
